Physical activity –

physical activity has a great impact on leading a healthy lifestyle. it is recommended for adults 19-64 to partake in 150 minutes of physical activity weekly by the nhs. physical activity rewards you with many benefits. one of them being it lowers your chances of having a heart attack. your heart will get stronger as a result and will not have to work as hard. engaging in physical activity for months would also result in your body improving aesthetically which would result and increased self-esteem. engaging in physical activity can also either help you make friends and socialise or maintain friendships.

Alcohol-

Alcohol should be consumed moderately as reckless drinking can lead to many health problems. The nhs recommends not drinking more than 14 units of alcohol a week. there are many benefits that come with drinking less alcohol these include reduced risk of heart disease , you will be able to concentrate better, you will sleep better and wake up more refreshed/rested. regular or frequent drinking means drinking alcohol most weeks and this comes with man risks such as liver damage, high blood pressure and increased risk of a stroke.

smoking-

14.7% of the uk population above the age of 18 smoke this equates to 7.2 million people who smoke. smoking can become very addicting and hard to quit, it also comes with many health risks such as cancer in many parts of the body including (mouth, throat and kidney), worsen/prolong the symptoms of respiratory conditions such as asthma and also has been known to cause coronary heart disease. smoking clogs up the walls of your arteries with fatty substances which can also be caused due to bad excessive eating .the main symptoms of coronary heart disease are chest pains, heart attacks and heart failure.

stress-

Everyone can suffer from stress due to a number of different reasons, however it can cause many health problems. a little stress will not hurt but excess stress can cause health problems such as Headaches, indigestion and not being able to concentrate. being stressed can also make you handle certain situations worse and even effect your interactions with family, friends or co-workers. this is a negative social effect on your lifestyle. constant state of stress also puts you at a higher risk of having a stroke. stress has also been known to cause stomach ulcers, this can be life-threatening as it tends to affect very sick people. symptoms include pain in the upper stomach, nausea/vomiting and feeling bloated or unusually full.

Diet-

dieting is an important thing to control if one is trying to better their lifestyle as foods can change your body and how you feel for the better or worse. Nhs guidelines advise that you should eat at least 5 portions of fruit/vegetables a day as well as base meals on higher fibre starchy foods like potatoes, rice or pasta. and also choose unsaturated oils over saturated oils. a healthy diet can reward you with weight loss, reduced cancer risk and heart health and stroke prevention. poor nutrition can lead to obesity, heart disease and high blood pressure. a diet is also essential in order to get in to shape, simply exercising will not help you achieve the desired body you want.
